Beirut, Lebanon-Massive explosion due to fertilizer ammonium nitrate rips through Lebanese capital Beirut

A terrible incident occurred at Beirut in Lebanon, a country in the Middle East, from the past few hours the news came that a powerful explosion happened on Tuesday, August 5, 2020(IST +5:30). According to the Lebanese health ministry report 73 people died and thousands of people(3700) are injured due to these devastating explosions and due to this explosions building is shaking and panic is spreading among the people of Beirut. The blasts were heard from approximately 240 kilometers away. 

 The reason behind this incident was not immediately clear by the government, but General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim, a top official said confiscated materials had been stored in the city’s port.

In the city’s port, there is a warehouse containing highly explosive material that was seized by the authority a year ago. After this incident, Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun called an urgent meeting of the national defense council, and where Beirut was a disaster zone declared by the president, in the meantime Prime Minister Hassan Diab declared Wednesday a day of mourning.

 Also, Prime Minister Hassan Diab said that 2750 tones of the agriculture fertilizer ammonium nitrate that had been stored for years in a portside warehouse that was mane cause of explosion and it was “a disaster in every sense of the word”.

In Washington President Donald trump offered US assistance to Lebanon also said that “The United States stands ready to assist Lebanon” and “We have a very good relationship with the people of Lebanon and we will be there to help”.

At the last whatever incident takes place that was pathetic for Lebanon people particularly when the whole mankind fights against Coronavirus and at last we can say our hearts and prayers are with the people of Lebanon and a huge respect to the victims of a terrible accident.
